Vietnamese president arrives in Tehran

TEHRAN, Mar. 13 (MNA) – President of Vietnam arrived in Tehran on Sunday afternoon and was welcomed by Iran Minister of Industry Nematzadeh.

Trương Tấn Sang, who is heading a delegation, is scheduled to hold talks with Iranian high-ranking officials including President Hassan Rouhani during his three-day visit.

Discussing the ways to expand bilateral ties of Tehran and Hanoi particularly in fields of economy, banking, oil and gas are on the agenda for the Vietnamese president.

Vietnam-Iran relations were established in 1973. Iran’s embassy to Hanoi and Vietnam’s embassy to Tehran was opened in 1991 and 1997, respectively.

Since then the level of political and economic cooperation between the two countries has increased through exchange of visits by senior officials from both sides.
